Pet Sitters/Dog Walkers

All our sitters are experienced animal lovers and owners.  They are police & reference checked, trained and regularly assessed to ensure they are meeting our high standards.
Our group dog walkers are also Pet Tech CPR and First Aid certified.

I started Pet Sitters NZ in 2004, due to a niche in the market for in home pet care.  Being a huge animal lover and caring for many different species over the years and caring for my friends pets when they went away, I decided to quit my day job in 2006 and start pet sitting full time.

Having spent 2 years at Equestrian college in the UK, I've continued my studies with animals and am a certified Pet Sitter through Pet Sitters International, a certified Dog Walker through Dog Tech and CPR/First Aid trained through Pet Tech.

I’ve had a wide range of pets throughout my life and currently own 2 Labradors.

Working with animals has always been a dream and now I get to hang out with dogs all day taking them for off leash walks.

I have my level 3 certificate in animal care and level 5 diploma in Veterinary Nursing.

I’ve always been a big dog lover and currently own a Spoodle.

When I saw one of the group walkers at the beach, I was keen to be a part of the team!

I now enjoying walking the big groups of dogs in Stoke and Richmond and getting to and learn more about behavior and pack dynamics.

Working with animals has always been a passion of mine and I’ve rescued many over the years. I’ve worked around the Pacific on a voluntary basis as a vet nurse and completed an animal behavior course through CABI.

I currently own a dog and a cat, but owned a wide variety of pets over the years.

I have been a big animal lover all my life and grown up with Golden Retrievers and cats.

I started off as a causal Pet Sitter back in 2018, now I walk groups of dogs 5 days a week, where we enjoy outings at the beach and other local exercise areas.

Building relationships with a wide variety of different dogs is what I enjoy most.

A huge animal lover at heart, I have had dogs for most of my life, most recently adopting our lovely girl from the SPCA here in Nelson, and there's nothing more I appreciate (aside from the wife) than the bond you build with a dog.

I volunteer at the SPCA in a variety of roles, taking care of the rabbits, walking and feeding the dogs as well as doing the driving for them where needed.

It’s a privilege and an honour to give these furry friends their exercise for the day and return them home happy and content.
